I've been wanting to blog about this horse print top since forever! I bought it just before Christmas and have worn it loads. It just hasn't made it to the blog until now.

As for everything else - I still haven't found a place to move to. I haven't stopped looking, I just don't want to settle for anything less that just right, or at the very least, bearable. Yesterday I saw a room in a flat not far from my work place. The area wasn't amazing, but the house inside was impeccably clean. However, the woman renting the room didn't want her "tenant" to make use of any other part of the house except the bedroom they are renting. That's two flats in a row with that condition. I might as well stay where I am than move if those are the living arrangements in the new place. - Yeah, I don't make use of the living room at my current house. I'm not one to hang out in the living room that much anyway, but it's nice to know I can if I want/need to. I'm keeping my spirits high though. I am stronger than I realise a lot of the time, so I am confident I will get through this and find a suitable flat/house to move into soon.

En cuanto a todo lo de mas - aun no he encontrado un lugar para donde mudarme. No he dejado de buscar, solo que no quiero conformarme con algo que sea menos que adecuado, o por lo menos, tolerable. Ayer vi una habitación no muy lejos de donde trabajo. La zona no era increíble, pero el piso por dentro estaba impecablemente limpio. Lo único que la señora que estaba alquilando no quería que su inquilino hiciera uso de su sala. Ya van dos pisos seguidos con esa condición. Para eso me quedo donde estoy. - Si, cierto, no hago uso de la sala en el piso donde estoy ahora. Bueno, tampoco soy de las que hace vida en la sala, pero me gusta saber que puedo si quiero/necesito. Eso si, estoy intentando no desanimarme. Soy mas fuerte de lo que reconozco muchas veces, así que estoy seguro de que voy a encontrar un piso/casa a donde poder mudarme pronto.

Hi everyone! How is your weekend going?

This is just a really quick post to show you guys what I wore to go to the supermarket earlier. You might recognise this top from my Cristmas Haul post. It's from the sale rack at New Look in Westfield's in London. I can't remember how much I paid for it, but it was cheap in comparison to it's full-price price. The plain purple maxi dress I wore under it is not so new. I think I've had it for about two years now, and it's one of my key go to pieces when the temperatures start to rise. And rise they have!! I'm so happy that winter seems to be pretty much behind us now, although yesterday was a very chilly day!!

I wasn't happy with the way my hair was behaving today, but as I am trying to limit how much, and how often, I apply heat to my hair, I decided that I could give my hair a break if I was only going to the supermarket. I guess one bad hair day won't kill me, lol. - Oh, and no. I am not frowning. It was just extremely sunny! And yes, I know, the maxi dress needs ironing. Just goes to show, that having a fashion Blog, doesn't mean we are eternally, impeccably, dressed!

Hola! Que tal os va el finde?

Os dejo un post cortito para mostrados lo que me puse hoy para ir al super. Reconocerais esta camiseta de mi post Christmas Haul. Es de las rebajas de New Look, del centro Comercial Westfields en Londres. No me acuerdo ahora cuanto he pagado por el, pero estaba barato en comparsion a lo que valia a precio completo. El vestido morado maxi no es nuevo. Creo que lo llevo desde hace dos años, y es una de las primeras prendas que me suelo poner cuando comienzan a subir las temperaturas. Y si que han subido!! Estoy tan contenta que el invierno parece estar ya en el pasado, aunque ayer si que hizo frio!! No me ha gustado nada como me ha salido el pelo, pero como estoy intentando limitar cuanto calor le aplico a mi acabo, igual que la frecuencia con que le aplico calor, decidí que como solo iba al súper, daba igual como tenia el cabello. Por un día que mi pelo no se porte bien, no me voy a morir, ji ji. - Por cierto! Tengo esa expresión en la cara porque hacia mucho sol. Aparte, ya se que el vestido necesito que se planche. Pero para que veáis, que porque tengamos un blog de fashion, no quiere decir que siempre vamos impecables!!

Hey Everyone! How are you?

Yesturday's outfit sort of came together by accident.

The Peter Pan Collar blouse, is something I bought months ago, after many, many months of really wanting something with a Peter Pan collar in my closet. It was one of those trends that I loved, and when I randomly came across this blouse after months of searching, it was instantly one of things that I loved upon first sight, and, I initially thought I'd get tons of wear out of it. However, after I had bought it, and tried it on with various different things at home, I couldn't help thinking I looked like a was wearing waitress uniform, no matter what I paired it with! Haha!

The original outfit plan for yesterday, was to wear this Peter Pan Collar Blouse with my blue Asos Curve skirt, only as I said before, I have been loosing a lot of weight recently, and the skirt currently slunches over my hips, loosely, making it a really funny length. I wasn't sure I liked the outcome of that union, so I switched to this skirt - which is another piece I had been itching to share with you guys!

Just like I was into the Peter Pan Collar trend, I was also into the pleated skirt trend. So when I came across this skirt in a size 20 at Primark, I couldn't not get it. Although to be honest, I did later regret getting it simply because... and this might sound terrible... but... it looks really cheap. Now, I'm not some high end designer label obsessed person, but there is a minimum standard that skirt doesn't reach, which has put me off wearing this skirt on more than one occasion. But, it provided the splash of colour that I think the Peter Pan collar needs in order to not look so waitressy...

I must apologise for my lack of smiles in this post. I'm just not in a good place what with all this housing madness. It's already March today and I haven't found anything. I've been okayed to stay where I am for another two weeks, but it's so far removed from what I wanted to do, that I feel as though I have failed somehow. As it's too late for me to find a whole apartment, I need to be less picky and try to find a room instead, which sounds much easier that it is. One of the places I saw yesterday was in an older woman's house. Over the phone she sounded adorable. Really sweet and thoughtful. Then we got to her house (a friend and I), and that first positive "over-the-phone" impression was instantly ripped apart when we go to her house and met her. The house was really crammed, and she rented the room but did not allow you to make use of any other area of the house. - Like she expected you to eat in your room and did not allow you to eat in her living room because it was her space... She literally said that to us. "The living room is out of bounds to whoever rents the room, because this is my space. But nobody will bother you in your room, because that would be your space." I could just tell that living there would have been drama, so it was a major no-no for me. It's so hard to not stress about all of this...

Going back to the outfit, I am loving the combo of green and Pink... I actually love colour blocking, but don't do it enough.

Os tengo que decir, estoy muy emocionada e inspirada por todos los comentarios que mi blog ha recibido de reciente, y que hay alguien por ahí que lee mi blog. Durante mucho tiempo he sentido que mi blog pasaba por desapercibido y que nadie ni lo miraba, y sinceramente, en mas de una ocasión he llegado muy cerca a cerrar el blog del todo. Asi que muchiiiiisimas gracias a todas las nuevas lectoras y a aquellas maravillosas personas que se toman la molestia de dejarme comentarios bellos. - Aparte, también os tengo que contar que cuando vi que mis seguidores habían llegado a 100, y luego alguno mas, estuve muy, pero extremadamente, emocionada! Asi que gracias, gracias, GRACIAS!!

This is an outfit I wore today. It's a small miracle that these photos were ever even taken! My usual co-worker-friend who takes my photos wasn't around to take these photos today, so I got another co-worker-friend to step in. It literally took us about five minutes to take these photos, as had lessons to get to on time!

Este ha sido mi look de hoy. Es un pequeño milagro que estas fotos se han podido tomar! La compañera-amiga que habitualmente me saca las fotos, no estaba por ahí hoy para sacarmelas, así que me las ha sacado otra compañera-tambien-amiga. Las hemos sacado en cinco minutos volando, ya que teníamos que volver a clase con tiempo.

As you guys know, I am currently in the process of house-hunting - (which I shall update you on in a moment). So I spent most of my weekend packing and sorting through things I could bin and/or giveaway. I threw some things out into the trash, and gave away two fairly large bags of clothes. Then I pre-planned every outfit for every single day this week to make my life easier. Only when I went to get dressed this morning, most of those clothes were too big on me. Most women would have been happy. I was freaked out. I've been losing tons weight without trying. Surely can't be good for you! I've lost enough weight to go down quite a few dress-sizes, and I can only think it's the stress I'm currently under. Luckily though, this is a blouse I had been wanting to show you guys for months! I bought it around the time I first got my eye-brows threaded, as that's when I first wore it, (and I wore it for those blog pictures too). I don't think I said anything about the blouse though, as it was more of a "beauty" post, that an outfit post, so...

Como ya sabeis, estoy buscando piso - (en breve os pondré al día con eso). He pasado la mayoría de mi fina de semana recogiendo y revisando mis cosas a ver qué tiro, qué guardo, y qué regalo. Tiré algunas cosillas, y he regalado dos bolsas de ropa, relativamente grandes. Luego pre-planifiqueé todos mis looks para la semana, con el fin de facilitarme la vida durante estos días. Solo que cuando me fui a vestir hoy, muchas de esas prendas elegidas, me quedaron enormes. Eso le hubiera alegrado la vida a muchas mujeres. A mi no. A mi me entro pánico. He rebajado de peso sin intentarlo. Eso no puede ser sano! He rebajado de peso lo suficiente, como para rebajar a muchas tallas. Afortunadamente, esta blusa es una prenda que llevaba tiempo queriendo subir al blog durante varios meses. La compre durante el tiempo en que me depileé con hilo por primera vez, (y que me la tenia puesta en esas fotos). No creo haber hablado de la blusa en esas fotos ya que no venia al caso, porque era un post de belleza, y no de un look.

This owl is one of my favourite necklaces, only after today, it has ended up without any feathers on it, so perhaps it's time to say goodbye to it, and somehow "recycle" it. And here are my shoes...

My students kept telling me how much they loved this blouse and this necklace all day today. I don't think I'd ever verbalise this because I think it sounds quite arrogant - but I am sure every other plus size blogger out there will be able to relate - I can't help finding joy in proving to teenage girls that you can dress nicely and modestly whilst not having to frumpy or unfashionable, regardless of size. I think people have this notion that you must be skinny and exposing lots of flesh to look good, which is not true. And as a "teacher", I believe my role goes beyond the academic stuff, and extends to more moral things too. I'm not saying impose your views and beliefs on the youth simply because you happen to be in the classroom, but we are partly products of our school-life, and when media is dictating that one must be skinny and to an extent that one must sexualise everything about themselves in order to be beautiful, attractive and successful, the world is only going to be more messed up than it already is, and having been a teenage who at times hated herself because she hated how she looked, I can relate to what some girls go through in regards to body image, and I do not wish that pain on anyone!!

Llevo todo el día escuchando cumplidos de algunas de mis alumnas; diciendo cuanto les gusta esta blusa, y cuanto les gusta este collar de búho, y lo guapísima que me ven. No se si seria capaz de algún día decir esto en voz alta, creo que no - pero seguro que todas las blogeras XL por ahí pueden comprender lo que os voy a decir. No puedo evitar encontrar alegría en demostrarle a niñas adolescentes, que se puede vestir bien y con modestia, sin tener que ir sin estilo, fuera de moda, o en plan-abuelita. Muchas personas piensan que para ir bien, hay que ser muy delgada e ir mostrando todo lo que uno tiene por ahí, pero están equivocadas/os. Como "docente" yo siento que mi rol va mucho mas allá que lo académico, y se extiende también a lo moral. No digo que haya que imponer las opiniones y creencias sobre nadie simplemente porque uno se encuentra en el aula, pero todos somos - en parte - productos de nuestra vida escolar. Cuando vivimos en un mundo donde los medios de comunicación dictan a que hay que ser flaca(o) y andar provocando con todo su ser para ser bella, atractiva y exitosa, entonces el mundo solo puede ir cada vez mas cerca hacia el fracaso. Y habiendo sido una adolescente que en momentos se ha auto-odiado porque odiaba su aspecto físico, puedo relacionarme con mucho de lo que muchas chicas jóvenes sienten frente a su imagen corporal, y es un dolor, y una pena que no se la deseo a nadie.

Going back to the housing situation, things are not looking good. I still haven't found a place to stay, and thursday is around the corner. I really want my own place, but there are too many obstacles in the way of that right now, and considering that I seem to only have 48 hours to find a place to move-in to, I can't exactly be overly picky and start holding my breath, can I?

Fracaso Friday

I very nearly didn't post this, as the photos do not do the outfit any justice, and for some reason neither my "photographer-friend" (aka a co-worker-friend), nor I, were doing a good job of posing and/or photographing, even though we did have lots of fun taking them. We couldn't stop laughing at ourselves!

Since, - as I mentioned in my last post, - I never wear an exact outfit twice, it seemed a waste to have bothered to take the photos, only to not post any of them; so here I am. Posting them. After all, it's only my little, teeny weeny, personal fashion/style blog, not vogue, so does it really matter if the photos aren't 100% to my liking?

This dress is one of the newest additions to my closet. It's a size 46 (US16) from H&M. It's a generous fit though, so you could fit into it if you are a few sizes bigger, provided you don't have a very full bust. I had to keep my eye on the buttons all day, so should safety pin the front from the inside next time I wear it.

I can't imagine myself ever wearing this without another top underneath it, as it very sheer and I'm not one to flaunt my bra to world. The first time I wore this dress I wore a plain cream top, and a scarf because it was a bit too low cut. Yesturday I decided to wear my cream front bow tie which I've had for months and had been itching to show you guys! (Its also in a size 46 from H&M).

I loved how "girly" and classic it looked when I threw it on, but then... I don't know. I caught my reflection at some point during the day and didn't like how I thought it looked almost "almost child-like".

The handbag is also new - though it doesn't match the rest of my outfit. I got it from Blanco a few days ago. I loved it as soon as I laid eyes on it, but as I am constantly trying to control my money-spending ways, I decided to be sensible. That means, put it on hold overnight and if I still like it the next day, then purchase it. Of course, as you have probably figured already, I went back the next day and I still loved it, so it came home with me. My only "complaint" about this handbag is that it rolls off the shoulder very easily, but the strap is long enough to wear it across the torso, so all is good.

I wish could say the same about my house hunt. I went to see a few more flats after the perfect flat was out of my reach, and then I came across another flat which was almost perfect, and I decided to ok it. Only the woman at the Estate Agent turned out to be a legitimate looney. I won't go into specifics, but basically, she didn't keep her word about contacting me, and then flipped all of a sudden and sent me some abusive and offensive text messages. She started out the very original and predictable "fat-hate abuse" via text messaging, before moving on to threats in her subsequent text messages. So, I no longer have a flat to move into. My boss suggested I could rent a room at her cousin's mother-in-law's place. I went yesterday, but the room was soooooooo tiny! It's a shame because the house was really homely, impeccably clean, and the lady herself seemed so lovely. She was so lovely in fact, that my visit to her house lasted for four hours and we didn't stop talking and laughing the whole time. I'm feeling a bit "scared", as I gave notice at my current place that I would leave by 1st March, and when my current "landlady" realised a few days ago that I hadn't found anywhere to go, she told me not to worry; that I can stay where I am as long as I need to. Only I don't want to stay here much longer, for many, many reasons. I guess it's nice of her to offer though. But even if she hadn't, I am surrounded by people who are very loving, compassionate and understanding, so either way, I know I will have a place to rest my head and a few shoulders to cry on if push came to shuv. It's just a bit... frustrating(?)... that I haven't found a decent place for myself yet.

And here is a little snippet of what I wore today. I couldn't any proper outfit post pictures because I simply haven't had the time to all day. I've been on my toes all day today, and I am going to stay up most of tonight working at home for work tomorrow too. I know it's only tuesday, but it already feels like friday to me! Lol. Thank God I love my job and the people I work with. Otherwise this would be hell! Hehe!

Aquí os dejo un trocito de mi look de hoy. No he podido sacar fotos 'decentes' de este look por el simple hecho de que no me ha dado tiempo de hacerlo hoy. Llevo todo el día trabajando mucho, y ahora voy a estar un largo trozo de esta noche despierta curando para mañana también. Ya se que solo es martes, pero yo siento como si ya fuese viernes!! Ja ja!! A Late Valentine Look

HAPPY LATE VALENTINE'S DAY!!

This is pretty much what I wore on Valentine's Day.

I say 'pretty much', because there was no-one around during the daytime on Valentine's Day who could take photos of my outfit for me. So I repeated the look again yesterday, (when I knew for a fact that I would have some around to photograph me), so I could blog about it for you. It's not 100% exactly the same outfit, simply because I absolutely detest repeating outfits. In fact, I almost never, ever, ever, wear the exact same combination of clothes more than once. So this is mostly, the exact same outfit, except for the scarf and the belt.

Yes, I know. I have issues.

Just switching the scarf and belt may not seem like something that would make a major difference; but, if there was at least some element of variety in the accessories, then it was easier for me to repeat the same combination of clothes, without feeling absolutely horrid about it.

Just for the record, this is not something I am proud of. In fact,

its something I hate about myself.

I don't know anyone else that feels the way I do about wearing an outfit more than once. Recently both my work colleagues and students have commented (though not in a bad way), on the fact that they have never seen me repeat an outfit. Ever. I honestly didn't think anyone noticed how varied my outfits are! At least they are nice about it, and not criticising or judging me negatively for it. Instead, I often get complimented at work for how I dress and for being so imaginative. Apparently I add "glamour" to everything in general, not just my dress sense...

Anyway; without getting side-tracked here, I have recently gotten to thinking about why I can't repeat outfits. In my head, I know it's ridiculous of me, but when it comes to my getting dressed to go out, - regardless of where I am going or who I am going to meet, - I simply cannot bring myself to wear the exact same combination of clothes and accessories more than once. It makes no difference if I am going somewhere where nobody has seen me wearing those clothes before.

Don't get me wrong. I am not some spoilt bimbo who is unaware of the world around her. In fact, I am quite the contrary; far from having been spoilt and far from being a bimbo. I know perfectly well that this issue of mine is not a common thing in the world. I am your average city girl, not a village girl who will be subject to nasty gossip for repeating clothes, or a member of any royal family, or a celebrity. I am an ordinary girl with a pretty ordinary life. Like you, I am the product of my environment and my childhood, - a time when my weight was a big issue - which leads me to some theories about why I have this issue with repeating outfits today, and I know I am not alone in my experiences, even if I might be alone in my "consecuence".

But I am not in the mood to discuss the negatives of my life experience as a voluptuous girl. So let's just say, for now, that I haven't always been the body-confident person I am today, with the irony being that I am probably at my biggest than I ever have been before.

Going back to the outfit, you might recognise this jumper from my London Christmas Haul. I got in the sales from New Look. It is one of my cutest pieces right now *smiles*

I had been wanting to try the jumper tucked into skirt thing for AGES!! I wasn't sure it would work on my body type, but I think it came out ok.

I added the skinny belt to "complete" the look, as it seemed to be missing something without it.

An odd Wednesday

This look is very different to my regular style. It's not as girly, and my hair has really started to curl once more, which makes me look almost like a completely different person altogether. I'm not sure I like the resulting look of me with my natural curls, but isn't embracing my hair's natural texture on par with accepting the rest of my physical body the way God meant it to be?

Este look es muy distinto a mi estilo regular. No es tan femenino, y mi cabello por fina realmente a comenzado a recobrar su rizo natural, lo cual me hace ver como una persona completamente distinta. No se si me gusta el resultado con mi pelo rizado, pero aceptar y llevar mi pelo tal y cual como Dios intentó, no es tan importante como aceptar el resto de mi cuero físico?

The charms necklace I wore is also quite new. I had been after something like this for quite some time, but hadn't found anything I really liked, until I found this. I also got an almost exact same one in "silver".

I'm really into red lipstick(s) at the moment. I thought this was a bit too bright, so I mixed it in with orange, and this was the final result.

Me están encantado cada vez mas los pinta labios rojos. Este rojo me pareció muy chillón, así que lo he mezclado con naranja, y el resultado fue este.

YEAY! It's Saturday already!

How has your week been?

Mine has been long and tiring. Seriously, holding down a full time job and house-hunting at the same time can be really draining, though I can't complain much. Yes, I have finally taken the plunge and decided to live alone again. I found the perfect flat earlier this week. It is in a really decent area, has three large bedrooms, fully reformed, huge in-built wardrobes and closets all over the place, an in-door laundry area, brand new fully equipped bathroom and kitchen, a parking space and a separate, large, lumber room behind the parking lot, - and all for a very low price rent. I went with a friend to see it, and we both fell in love with the place straight away. Sadly though, I am not eligible to rent it because of a few very basic (and logical long-term) reasons - such as a lack of an indefinite work contract. The landlords weren't happy either as apparently he had hoped I was eligible.

Yes, I was (and am) gutted, but I have faith and hope that I will find something just as great (if not better - though this flat so perfect) before this month is up. I like to think God put that amazing place on my path to show me that there are places out there that fit my wants and needs and are within my budget, so I won't loose hope just yet.

Qué tal os ha ido la semana?

La mia ha sido larga y cansina. En serio, trabajar en un horario completo y a la vez buscar piso, agota, aunque igual no me puedo quedar mucho de nada. Sip! He logrado el valor para volver vivir sola. Encontré el piso perfecto esta semana. En una zona muy bien, con tres habitaciones relativamente amplias, totalmente reformada, con armarios y armarios empotrados bastante amplios también, un tendedero cerrado, el baño y la cocina completamente nuevos, reformados y equipados. Con plaza de garaje y una trastero bien generoso! Y encima, el alquiler a un precio bien económico y dentro de mis posibilidades. Fuí a verlo con una amiga, y las dos nos hemos enamorado del piso namás verlo de entrada, y sin desencantos. Lamentablemente no me permiten en la comunidad de Madrid coger el alquiler por cosas básicas (y aparentemente lógicas) como la falta de un contrato de trabajo indefinido. Los dueños también se desanimo ya que al parece les caí bien.

Si, estuve (y estoy) triste, pero tengo fe y esperanza de que voy a encontrar algo igual de genial (sino mejor - aunque ese piso me parecido tan perfecto) - antes de que acabe este mes. Me gust pensar que Dios ha puesto ese piso en mi camino para mostrarme que hay pisos por ahí que cumple con lo que necesito y lo que quiero, y que están dentro de mis posibilidades económicas, así que aun no es el momento para perder la esperanza!!

Going back to the outfit I wore yesterday, I'm not sure what to tell you about it... The skirt is from ASOS Curve. You guys might remember that I posted about buying this skirt ages ago, and how it was far too big on me. Then I mailed it back to ASOS with the intention of re-ordering it two sizes smaller. Only I don't know what happened. I never got round to re-ordering it, until I stumbled across it in their sale. It was only available in one size smaller than my original order, so it is actually a bit big on me, but it's wearable. I wasn't worried about it slipping off me as I went about my usual daily business of constantly being on my toes all day.

Bueno, volviendo al look de ayer (viernes), no se realmente que deciros... La falda es de ASOS Tallas Grandes. Quizas os recordais que hablé sobre haber comprado esta falda hace tiempo, y lo enorme que me quedaba. Luego la devolví con la intención de volver a pedirla dos tallas menos. Lo unico que no se que me pasó. No volvi a pedirla hasta que la vi por casualidad en las rebajas. Sólo que esta vez solo estaba disponible en una talla menos, no dos, así que me queda un pelín grande, pero es ponible. No me preocupaba la posibilidad de que se me fueran a caer mientras así lo mío de todos los días; estar para acá y para allá de pies constantemente.

This skirt actually attracted a lot of attention. Not all of it was positive, but that's fine. The one thing everyone seemed to agree on was how beautiful the colour of this skirt is.

Esta falda llamó mucho la atención. No toda su atención fue positiva, pero no pasa nada. Lo que si estuvo todo el mundo de acuerdo, fue, con el color de esta falda es una preciosidad!

Just so you know, the outfit looked different in person to how it looks on the photos.

I think it looked better in real life, but... C'est la vie!

Por cierto, este look se veía algo distinto en persona que como sale en las fotos. Yo pienso que se veía mejor en "vida real", pero... Así son las cosas de la vida!

As it's cold out here (please don't let the sunshine fool you into thinking it's warm), I wore a turtle neck top and a thick knitted "jumper" over it. - My thick, black, mens' jumper from Zara which I also wore for my post "If I were a Boy" quite a while back. The jumper is long, so I folded it in under itself, but over the skirt, and it looked fine. All those layers definitely kept me warm today, so all in all, I was a warmly wrapped up happy bunny for most of the day.

Ya que está haciendo frio por estos lados (por favor, que no os engañe el solazo que hace), me puse la falda con una camiseta cuello alto, y una sweter grueso por encima. - Mi sweter negro de hombres de Zara, que me la puse en mi post "If I were a boy" hace tiempo. El sweter es largo, asi que lo doble hacia dentro, pero por encima de la falda, y se veía bien. Todas esas capas sin duda me mantuvieron calentita la mayoría del día, asi que estuve alegremente calentita la mayoria del dia de ayer.

I'm also still trying to work with my hairs' natural curls. Some days it refuses to curl, other days it behaves perfectly, like yesterday. So, I was very happy with my curls all day. I'm not sticking religiously to wearing my hair curly all day, everyday, but for the most part I am being kind to my hair and letting it be.

Aun estoy luchando para llevar mis rizos naturales. Hay días que los rizos no se definen, y otros días que se comportan fenomenalmente, como ayer. Así que estuve muy contenta con mi cabello en todo el día. No estoy llevando rizado constantemente, todos los días, pero en general estoy siendo tierna con mi cabello y dejándolo ser.

BTW, I had planned to take part in Irene's 27 dresses challenge this month, inspired by Jennifer of Jesifer's Lion's Club. However, it's cold, and as I spend most of my time at work and I can think of more than one dress in my closet that might be considered too short for work, (and leggings aren't allowed), it started to seem unrealistic when I thought about it properly. Also, I don't have that many "winter" dresses, and with the climate the way it is, I'd probably freeze to death anyway (dress code at work or not). So, as I am interested in doing this challenge, I might do it next month, or the month after, when in theory, the temperatures should have gone up, and I might have been able to stock up on longer dresses that respect the work dress code a little more, lol.

Por cierto, este mes había tenido previsto participar en el reto de Irene, inspirado por Jennifer de Jasifer's Lions Club, de 27 vestidos. Pero, hace muchísimo frío, y como paso la mayoría del tiempo en mi lugar de empleo, y se me ocurre que mas de un vestido en mi closet puede ser considerado muy corto para llevarlo ahí, (y los leggings están prohibidos), al final me empezó a parecer irrealista cuando me lo pensé bien. Aparte, no tengo muchos vestidos de invierno, y con el clima que hay, quizás me muera del frío, (normas de vestuario para empleados o no). Asi que, como igual me interesa hacer el reto, quizás lo la haga el mes que viene o el próximo, cuando en teoría las temperaturas deben haber subido, y que quizás haya tenido la oportunidad de acumular algunos vestiditos mas largos que cumplan con las normas de vestir de mi trabajo.

Hi everyone! I'm so sorry, but I am actually really behind with my outfit posts on here, so I plan to take some time out to blog over the weekend, and post a few looks that I have pending.

For now though, here is what I wore yesterday...

Por ahora, os muestro lo que me puse ayer...

I was actually really excited about this look. It was something I have been wanting to put together for quite some time now. I got the skirts a few months back, but the denim blouse is something I bought a few days ago and which had been on my wish list since forever. I was struggling to find a denim blouse that I could button up, which sounds easier than it is! In the end, I stumbled across this one in H&M's MAMA section. I'm not a fan of maternity wear being the norm in an unpregnant plus size womans closet, but I couldn't not get this blouse after so long when it's a perfect fit.

En realidad me hacia mucha ilusión este look. Es un look que hacia tiempo tenia ganas de estrenar. La falda la compre hace meses, pero la blusa vaquera es una prenda que compre hace unos días, y que llevaba mucho tiempo pendiente en mi wish list. Me estaba costando trabajo encontrar una blusa vaquera que me cerrara, que suena mas fácil que lo que es en realidad. Al final encontré esta de repente en la zona de Pre-mama en H&M. No soy fan de que la ropa de pre-mama forme parte del closet de una mujer que NO este embarazada sino gordita, pero no pude no comprarme esta blusa después de tanto tiempo deseando una cuando me queda tan bien de talla.

The irony of it is, that I am currently going through "a natural hair" phase. I don't wear wigs, weaves or extensions, (never have), but I did straighten my hair a lot! I am trying to be kinder to my curls now though, so I sort of re-learning how to manage my hair; but I can save all that for another day :)

La ironia de esto, es que actualmente estoy pasando por una fase de "pelo natural". No llevo pelucas ni extensiones, (ni nuna las he llevado), pero si que me cepillaba el cabello al liso con mucho frecuencia! Ahora estoy intentando ser mas "tierna" con mis rizos, así que estoy casi re-aprendiendo a manejar mi cabello; pero os lo cuento otro día :)

I've been wanting to show you guys my H&M BIB houndstooth top which I actually bought months ago, back when I didn't have a working camera - hence why it has taken me so long to do a post on it.

Llevo mucho tiempo queriendo mostraros este top de la sección de tallas grandes de H&M (BIB). La he comprado hace varios meses, pero no había subido ningún look con ella, porque hasta hace poco, no tenia una cámara que funcionara. Por lo cual, me he demorado en hacer un post sobre ella.

I had stopped making new years resolutions at some point, but have kind of made some for this year. One is to try and work with my hair's natural curliness as much as possible. It's a tried and failed one for me so far, so let's see how long I last this time! I must keep reminding myself that if I am to grow my hair out, I must do so with healthy hair! - Not that I am kidding myself about how it looked today. I know it was a mess... Although I did get a few compliments on it, so maybe it's just me being harsh on myself, as usual?

Hubo algún momento en que deje de hacer "promesas" de cumplir cosas al principio de cada año nuevo, pero me he visto proponiendo algunas metas para este anño. Una de ellas es intentar trabajar con mis rizos naturales. Es una meta que siempre acabo suspendiendo, así que vamos a ver cuanto me aguanto en esta ocasión! Tengo que seguir auto-recordandome que si me voy a dejar crecer el pelo, lo tengo que hacer sanamente! - Aunque me engaño de como estuvo hoy. Ya se que estaba un poco hecho desastre... Aunque me han dado varios piropos hoy sobre mi pelo, así que quizás soy yo la que es muy dura conmigo misma, como siempre?

I threw in a splash of colour, by wearing my red Evans Bracelet. This is another purchase made months ago when I no longer had a decent working camera. It is by far one of my favourites accessories at the moment. I wear it almost daily, so be warned - You will be seeing a lot around here :)

Le di un toque de color al ponerme mi pulsera roja de Evans. Es algo que me tambien me compré hacen unos meses, cuando no tenia cámara que fncionara. Es una de mis piezas favoritas, y la llevo casi todos los días. Asi que os advierto, la vas a ver mucho por aquí :)

I almost forgot! I actually have a little story about this top. I had seen it in store on a few occassions before I actually purchased it. When I did round to making my mind about it, I got the last one in my size, and then the girl at the counter and I had a little chat about this top. She mentioned that it had been selling really well. That Houndstooth was highly in demand and there wasn't enough of it in their "straight sizes" so the plus size ones had been selling like hot potatoes. - Basically, "straight" sized girls had been shopping like crazy for this top in the plus size section! It kind of brought home that plus size fashions really are getting better all the time, and the tables are starting to turn, slowly, but surely. I still remember drooling over clothes I wished were made in my size when I was a teenager. Now I keep hearing about "straight" sized girls drooling over plus size clothes. Who would have thought!?

Casi se me olvidó! Os tengo una pequeña anécdota sobre este top. La había visto varias veces en la tienda antes de comprarla. Cuando por fin decidí comprarme la, acabé llevando la ultima que había en mi talla, y luego la chica en la caja y yo tuvimos una breve conversación sobre ella. La chica me comentó que estas camisetas se habían vendido muy bien. Que no había suficiente pata de gallo en las tallas "regulares" y que por eso las de las tallas grandes se habían vendido mucho. - O sea, que las chicas de tallas "regulares" se habían vuelto locas por esta camiseta de la sección de tallas grandes! Me hizo recordar que las modas en tallas grandes están mejorando cada vez mas, y que lentamente, pero con seguridad, las cosas están cambiando. Yo aun recuerdo, cuando era adolescente, con qué ganas yo deseaba que el tipo de ropa que me gusta la hicieran en mi talla también. Quién de lo hubiera imaginado?

Colouring-in Winter

I forgot to mention in my last post that I finally have a new camera! YEAY!

Se me olvidó decirles que tengo una nueva cámara! Woo!

I don't have very much to say about this post. It's just a regular casual outfit suitable for cooler climates. The v-neck you can see there is something I have had for years, but have no recollection of ever wearing it. It's a gorgeous bright colour, and it's very soft to the touch as it's a mix of silk and wool. I also have it in fuscia and yellow. I'm so glad I rediscovered them, as I have a few styling ideas for them :)

No tengo ucho que deciros de este look. Es un look informal y apropriado para los climas frescos. El setercito azul que me veis abajo lo he tendio una años, pero no recuerdo habermelo puesto. Tiene un color hermoso, y es muy suave al tacto ya que es una mezcla de seda y lana. Tambien lo tengo en fucsia y amarillo. Estoy tan contenta de haberles re-descubierto, y que tengo muchas ideas de como estilisarlas :)

A Rainy Start to 2012

This is the first outfit I wore out this year. And where was I going? To the dentist!

Este fue mi primer look del 2010. Y a donde iba? Al dentista!

I hadn’t been in a really long time, but wasn’t worried as my teeth never give me any problems at all, and my check ups never reveal hidden problems either.

However, I was worried about the fact I am now in my very late twenties and have yet to see signs of the existance of my wisdom teeth.

Hacia mucho que no iba en mucho tiempo, pero tampoco me preocupaba mucho porque mis dientes nunca me dan problemas, y mis revisiones nunca revelan problemas oculta tampoco.

Lo que si me tenia un pelín preocupada, es que ya estoy al final de mis 20s, y aun estoy esperando señales de que mi dientes del huisio existen!

I was late to teeth as a child, and I have heard that babies who teeth late get their wisdom teeth late too, so I had been hoping they’d either be late, or simply not there (as is the case for some people). I found out after an x-ray, that mine apparently do exist, but nobody knows if they are ever going to bother coming out or not.

My dentist then told me, (I’m not sure if he was trying to be funny, as he also made a really bad, really innappropriate joke later on...), that in the olden days people like me would get their stubborn hermit-like wisdom teeth extracted, but that now it was more common to just leave them be. Thank you Mr. Dentist, for putting horrid images in my head of my gums being painfully cut open and my wisdom teeth being vicously ripped out. - He did say olden days, so I’m not thinking of neat operations with anaestetic! Oh well. At least I know I have excellent oral health! LOL!

De bebé mis dientes de leche me salieron tarde, y he escuchado decir que al bebé que le salen los dientes tarde, tambien le salen los del huicio tarde! Asi que estaba esperando que salieran tarde, o que simplemente no los tuviera (que también puede ser el caso). Tras hacerme una radiografía, parece ser que si existen, pero nadie sabe cuando van a salir; ni si quiera saben si van a molestar en salir, o no.

Luego mi dentista me comentó, (aunque aun no se si estaba intentado ser cómico, ya que también hecho un chiste bastante malo y fuera de lugar, tras hacerme este comuntario...), que antiguamente a las personas como yo, les sacaban los dientes del huicio sino le salían, pero que ahora es mucho mas normal dejarlos estar ahí. Gracias, Señor Dentista por meter horribles imágenes en mi cabeza de mis encías siendo rotas dolorosamente y mis dientes de juicio siendo viciosamente arrancadas de mi boca! - El dijo antiguamente, así que no me imagino operaciones limpias y libre de dolor con anestesia. Ah pues! Pero por lo menos se que siguo teniendo una salud oral excelente! Jaja!

I also got to wear my brand new wellies that day! :) I’ve been struggling to find a pair of wellies that fit around my calf that were neither floral, spotty or striped; just plain, until I found these. These are only ankle high, but they're cute. I didn’t enjoy the fact that it was rainy and very windy - and I even ended up with a wrecked unmbrella! But...

It’s always fun to wear something new, isn’t it?

También tuve la oportunidad de ponerme mis nuevas botas de lluvia ese día. Llevaba tiempo buscando unas botas que me queden de pierna, y que no sea floreadas, de lunares, ni de rayas; solo unicolor, hasta que encontré estas. Solo llegan hasta el tobillo, pero son una monada. No me gustó mucho que fuese un día lluvioso, y de mucho viento muy fuerte, y que acabé con el paraguas roto! Pero...

Siempre es divertido estrenar algo nuevo, no?

I think this might be the last in my instalments from my backlog... I think...

This is definitely one of my favourite outfits. Some people might think it's not much to look at, but I love it! That t-shirt is one of my favourites, as is that hitch skirt! Who doesn't love it when two of their favourite pieces come together and work?

I wore this to spend the day at my cousins house, and eventually needed to take the belt off as it started to get uncomfortable; although I can't remember if it might have had something to do with eating lunch and bloating. Other than that, it was a perfectly comfy, cute combo, which I shall definitely repeat at some point :)

Speaking of bloating, I had a little blood test done the other day to check me for Celiac Disease. I bloat an excessive amount after I eat certain foods, and can feel quite sick after I eat others, but for no apparent reason. So I queried my doctor about it and he said it sounds like Celiac Disease, even though I do not have all the symptoms. It's mainly the bloating excessively and the feeling like I want to vomit for hours after I eat certain things. Oh, and I might have lost a bit of weight. Now I'm just waiting for the results. I'm not scared or worried it is that, as I don't think it's life threatening or anything like that. I just want to know if I have a medical issue or not.

In the meantime, I shall continue to indulge in dress up :)

Me parece que este es el ultimo look que publico retrasado... Creo...

Es unos de mis looks favoritos. Quizas hay quien piense que no tiene nada de especial, pero a mi me encanta! Esa camiseta es una de mis preferidas, y la falda tambien! A quien no le gusta cuando dos de sus prendas favoritas se juntan y funcionan?

Me puse esto para ir a pasar el día en casa de una de mis primas, aunque llegó el momento que me tuve que quitar el cinturón porque me incomodaba. No recuerdo si esto tuvo que ver con que haya comido algo que me haya hecho inchar o no; pero aparte de eso, me resulto un look muy cómodo y mono; y que seguramente reptiré.

Hablando de inchazón, me han hecho una prueba de sangre para ver si soy Celiaca. (INFO) Suelo hinchare excesivamente, y sentirme con ganas de vomitar durante varias horas tras comer ciertos alimentos. Se lo comenté a mi Dr, y él dijo que suena a que pueda ser celiaca. Ahora solo estoy esperando las pruebas del examen de sangre. No tengo miedo de que salga positivo, ya que no es algo que me va a matar, ni nada así. Tampoco tengo todas las simptomas; solo que me hincho excesivamente y luego tengo ganas como de vomitar. Ah, y quizás haya adelgazado un pelín también. Eso si, me gustaría saber si tengo un problema medico, o no.

Mientras, continuaré dedicandome a jugar <>.

I know I don't look even half as good as she does, but that's ok. I think the outfit worked fine, although I was expecting it not to on the morning that I decided to give it a try.

I know I've said this before, but I love it when I look in the mirror and a combination I think isn't going to work, actually does!

So Last Year... Part 2

This is an outfit from last summer. It's nothing special really. Just an outfit I wore to work. At the time I was walking in the middle of what I looked and felt a bit like a desert, in the hot blazing sun for about half an hour a day, twice on day, so I was only really interested in not getting too fried in the heat. I imagine I must have regretted wearing jeans that day, as I always hate wearing jeans in summer. I find them too hot! Anyway, the top is from C&A. I think I've only worn it about three times, tops; so I'd like to get more wear out of it... At the time I was really into the bow on the blouse, and it is the first of a few blouses / tops I own in that style :)

Este es un look del verano pasado. No es nada especial. Solo algo que me puse para ir a trabajar. En ese momento caminaba en lo que parecía ser un desierto, en el sol hirviendo, durante mas o menos media hora, dos veces al día; así que solo me interesaba intentar que el sol no me fuera a freír mucho. Me imagino que luego me arrepentiría de haber ido de vaqueros, ya que no me suele gustar llevarlos en verano porque me parecen muy calientes! Bueno, en fin. La blusita es de C&A. Creo que solo la he llevado unas tres veces, como mucho, así que quiero sacarle mas partido. En aquel momento estaba muy por las blusas con "lazos" en frente, y es la primera que me compré de ese estilo :)

I know I wasn't the greatest blogger in 2011, what with not always posting my outfits (despite photographing them), and then lacking a working cameras for months on end after breaking two brand new cameras almost in a row (totally by accident of course!) So my first few post of 2012 (after my Happy New Year Post) is going to be a little back log of outfits I have had on my pending list since forever! I think it might be a good idea to do these posts as chronologically as possible, so here is the first instalment...

A Lavapies Ballerina

Ya se que no he sido la mejor blogera del 2011, ya que no siempre he subido mis looks (a pesar de haberle sacado fotos) y luego mi falta de una camera que funcione durante meses, tras haber roto dos cameras nuevas (por accidente, por supuesto!) Asi que mis primeros pocos posts - tras felicitarles por el año nuevo, os voy a mostrar unos looks que he tenido pendientes. Supongo que seria una buena idea intentar subirlos lo mas cronológicamente posible, así que aquí os dejo la primera parte...

Una Bailarina de Lavapies

This is a look from when I was living alone. (This photo was taken outside of my old flat. The one which was ridden with various health and safety issues, and which I couldn’t get out of quick enough). Technically, it was in Anton Martin, not Lavapies, but I was literally in the heart of both areas, which for the most part they might as well be the same area, which I didn't know before I moved in. I'm just VERY glad to be out of that rotting little flat. - It was literally rotting away in mould! But that's another story for another occasion! - I already told you I had my fair share of tears in 2011...

The outfit itself reminds me of something a dancer might wear. Perhaps it’s the leg warmers? When I bought this dress, I thought I’d get tons of wear out of it, as it’s such an easy seeming throw-on-in-a-flash-peice. Instead it’s too low cut and I find it really unflattering without a high waist belt, which means I can’t think of many ways to wear it.

Any suggestions...?

Esto es un look de cuando vivia sola. (Esta foto la tomé frente a mi piso, aquel que estaba infestado de varios problemas que amenazaban la salud y la seguridad, y del cual no pude huir lo suficiente rapido). En realidad, era en Anton Martin, no Lavapies, pero en realidad estaba justo en el centro de ambos "barrios", y que en mayor parte se puede decir que son lo mismo, cosa que yo no sabia antes de entrar en ese piso. Ahora solo me algo de haberme salido de piso que se estaba pudriendo literalmente en moho! Pero esa es una historia para otra ocasión! - Ya os dije que me tocó pasar por cosas feillas en el 2011...

El look me recuerda a algo que quizas se pondria una bailarina. Quizas son los calentadores? Cuando compré este vestidito, pense que le sacaria mucho partido, por su aparente facilidad de algo que se pone en un pis pas. Pero luego en realidad, me ha resultado demasiado escotado por la parte delante, y siento que no me favorece sin el cinturon puesto bien alto, lo cual significa que no se me ocurren muchas maneras de como llevarlo.

Sugerencias...?

HAPPY NEW YEAR - 2012

First off, I want to wish you all a happy new year!! I know I’m a few days late with this, but I just got back to Madrid from London and haven’t had any internet access there. - I did have a wonderful time though, and felt no desire to come back to Madrid, when usually I can't wait to be back! LOL!

Secondly, I also wanted to say, that if last year wasn’t your year of love, health, money and happiness, I hope this new year is. - You know, even if last year wasn’t great for you, I’m sure you learnt a few things, right? I know I sure did!

I can’t say I had a dreadful year in 2011, as it could have been much worse, but I did have my fair share of tears. Instead of being discouraged though, I chose to empower myself. They were nothing more than learning curbs that taught me something or other. I was also blessed with a lot of love, support and laughter along the way, so what’s there to complain about really? At the end of the day, things happened to me like they do to everyone else, and like I said, things could have been much worse. Besides, I think it’s more important to worry about our own actions, and there isn’t much I regret doing last year...

For example, I found myself walking away from one or two friendships. People who pretended to be real friends, but were only around me because they confused my generosity and patience with a lack of intelligence on my part - and so assumed I would never see their true colours, even when their true colours were glaring right at me in all their malice; with one or two people seemingly feeling jealous of me for some reason or another. People who were only around me because they wanted to use me in some way, but who I made excuses for because I wanted to see the best in them. People who did not deserve my love, patience or friendship, and who when I walked away from them, I felt like I had got rid of a really bad smell. - In some cases, I literally had! LOL! As you can imagine, I feel no regrets about that! I just thank God for my many real friends, and my family, who would never take advantage of my kindness, or do anything to hurt me. I was also fortunate enough to meet some new, truly amazing people too, who I instantly felt a strong connection with, so again, it's not all bad. Point is, good things happen along with the bad, balancing it all out.

I also had a couple of serious health issues, whilst working with people who (the majority) had about as much compassion as a stone, but I was reminded of my strength thanks to that particularly hard episode, and I bravely stuck with it until my contract ended. Then I was blessed with the job from heaven, where the people could not be nicer and/or more compassionate. I guess that just goes to show that karma really does work it’s magic!

So if 2011 wasn’t your year, sit back, take a deep breath, think of it as a learning curb, take what you learnt from it and apply it to your future, walk away from anything poisonous and don’t look back, don’t repeat the same mistakes, and love for loves sake! You can’t control others behaviour, but you can control how you react to things, and what you allow in your life.

As for the outfit in this post, it's actually something I wore MONTHS ago, but never got round to posting it!

Ante todo os quiero desear un año nuevo maravilloso!! Se que os lo deseo unos días tarde, pero justo he regresado a Madrid de Londres, y allá no tuve acceso al internet. - Aunque me la paseé genial y no tenia ni el mas mínimo deseo de regresar a Madrid, cuando normalmente estoy contando los días para regresar! Jaja!

También os quería decir, que si el año pasado no fue tu año del amor, salud, dinero y felicidad, que deseo que este año nuevo sí lo sea. Aunque el año pasado no fuese fantásico para ti, estoy segura que habréis aprendido algo de ella, no? Yo sí que he aprendido cosas de ese año pasado!

No os puedo decir que tuve un año catastróficamente horrendo, ya que ha podido ser mucho peor, aunque es cierto que me vi soltando mas de una lágrima. Pero en vez de desanimarme, decidí ser fuerte. Esos eventos no fueron más que ocurrencias de aprendizaje que me han enseñado alguna cosa u otra. Tambiên estuve bendecida de mucho amor, apoyo y rizas por el camino, asi que tampoco me puedo quejar mucho. Al fin y al cabo, me han pasado cosas, como le pasan a cualquiera; y como ya he dicho, han podido pasar cosas mucho peor. Además, me parece más importante preocuparse por las acciones que uno mismo toma, y no me arrepiento de mucho de lo que yo haya hecho el año pasado...

Por ejemplo, me vi dejando alguna amistad u otra. Personas que finjían ser amistades verdaderas, pero que en realidad habian supuesto que yo debería ser tonta porque soy paciente y bondadosa / generosa, y que yo jamás me daría cuenta de sus verdaderas intenciones. Ni si quiera en momentos cuendo su(s) verdadero(s) caractéres se revelaban con todo su malicia expuesta. Personas que al parecer sólo querían utilizarme de alguna manera, e en algunos casos dejaron evidente que me envidiaban, mientras yo excusaba sus acciones, porque queria ver lo mejor de su persona. Personas que no se merecían mi amor, mi paciencia, ni mi amistad, y que cuando me aparté de su(s) lado(s), sentí el alivio de haber aborrecido un mal olor. - En algun caso fue literalmente eso lo que hize! JAJA! Así que como os podéis imaginar, no me arrepiento de haber hecho eso ni en lo mas mínimo. Doy gracias a Dios por mis muchas verdaderas amistades, y mis familia, que jamás abusarían mi bondad, ni harían nada por herirme. Tambien tuve la buena fortuna de conocer personas nuevas que son verdaderamente maravillosas, con quien he sentido una instantanea e inmensa conexión. Lo que os quiero decir con eso, es que pasan cosas buenas y malas, y así todo se "equilibria".

Tambien he tenido que lidiar con algunos problemas serios de salud, mientras trabajaba en un lugar donde (la mayoria) tenían la misma capacidad de compasión que una piedra. Pero ese episodio que para mi fue particularmente dura, me recordó lo fuerte que soy; asi que me aguanté hasta que mi contrato acabó. Ahora trabajo en un lugar donde la gente no puede ser más buena ni comprensiva - ni si los hubiera mandado a hacer! Supongo que es cierto que Karma hace su magia.

Asi que si el 2011 no fue tu año de alegrias, sientate bien, respira hondo, piensa en aquello como un momento de aprendizaje, aprende lo que puedas de ello y aplícaselo a tu futuro. Alejate de todo lo que sea venenoso en tu vida y no mires hacia atras, ni repitas los mismos errores, y ama por amar. Tu no puedes controlar a los de mas, pero si puedes controlar como tu reaccionas hacia las cosas, y lo que permites en tu vida.

En cuanto al look que os muestro en este post, es algo que me puse hace MESES pero no había llegado a subirlo al blog hasta ahora.

My DIY Christmas Gifts | Part I

I'm not sure what has got into me this year, but I am really looking forward to Christmas!

I usually dislike Christmas and believe it should only be celebrated for religious reasons. If you are a believer in Jesus, then go ahead and celebrate. But if you are not, what's the point? Without the religious basis, it is nothing more than a consumerists excuse to consume as much as possible! Personally, I find that distasteful. Don't get me wrong, I am not an atheist, a bible basher or a cynic, and I respect and appreciate the fact that Christmas is the season of love and generosity regardless of ones religious beliefs. I just dislike how commercialised Christmas has become. Anyhoo! Being in the Christmas Spirit and all that, I thought I would show you the Christmas gifts I have been working on today...

No se que es lo que he ha pasado este año, pero las navidades me están haciendo muchísima ilusión!

Normalmente, no me gusta las Navidades. Creo que solo se debería celebrar por motivos religiosos. Si eres creyente de Jesus, adelante. Celebra. Pero sino, para que celebrarlo? Para mi, la navidad sin fe no es mas que una excusa para el consumidor poder consumir cuanto mas pueda, y eso en humilde opinión es de mal gusto. No os equivoquéis, no soy atea, predicadora frenética, ni estoy de sospecha; respeto y valoro el hecho de que la navidad es la época de amor y generosidad indiferentemente de las creencias religiosa de cada uno. Solo me disgusta que la navidad se ha hecho algo tan comercial! Pero bueno! Ya que tengo el espíritu navideño dando cosquillas, os mostrare lo que llevo haciendo todo el dia...

Of course, the pretty coloured paper I put in the frames will be removed and have a photo situated in it's place! I have been working on more photo frames, but they are incomplete. Some are still a blank canvas waiting to be decorated, whilst others are having something that I glued onto them, sticking down over night!

And I didn't just work on photo frames as gifts either... There are a few cute wooden boxes too!

Here are two of them so far... (although they are incomplete)

Por supuesto que se quitará el papelito bonito de colores que he puesto en los cuadros, y se les meterá una foto en su lugar! He estado trabajando en más cuadros, pero estaán incompletos. Algunos aun siguen en blanc, esperando a ser decorados, mietnras otros espera toda la noche a que se le pegue bien algo que les he puesto!

Y no solo he estado trabajando en cuadros... También hay unas cajitas de madera bonísimas!

All these things have been painted using acrylic paints. Almost all the additional bits of decoration are mere scraps from from jewellery which has either "broken" by accident (or on purpose to be used here), earrings which are missing it's pair, strips of ribbon from somewhere or other... Basically, anything I see some element of beauty / potential in!

Todas estas cosas han sido pintadas con pinturas acrílicas. Casi todos los detalles adicionales son trozos de bisutería que se han roto sin querer (o a propósito para una cosa de estas), de pendientes (sarsillos) que les falta su pareja, y cintas de lo que sea... Basicamente, cualquier cosa que yo le vea una belleza / potencial!

Hey guys! I hope you are all well. I had planned to do a small video post, but there have been two very recent deaths on both sides of my family, so I'm not really in the mood to make a video of my own, although I wasn't close to either person, but I still feel sad. However, I do feel like blogging, so I thought I'd share these ghd hair tutorial videos with you.

I'm sure I've mentioned this to you guys before, but I'm a bit of a hair and make-up lover, as well as a clothes lover, but for some reason that side of me never really makes it on to the blog.

Anyway, I thought these videos might inspire you guys when styling / altering the texture of your hair.

I've actually been craving a peter pan collar item to add to my ever expanding closet, but except for a blouse I bought in Festa some weeks back (and have yet to wear), there is not much Peter Pan happening. When I was at Jara's house last weekend, she knew I would love this dress so much that she leant it to me to wear to work. (It adhered to my school's dress code perfectly, and a lot of people at work commented on how much they liked it).

Me encantaria poder deciros que este look es mio y ha sido mi idea, pero no puedo.

Todo lo que llevo puesto en este 'post' es de mi amiga Jara - que también es blogera.

En realidad llevo tiempo queriendo agregar algo con un cuello bebé a mi armario, pero con la excepción de una blusa que he comprado en Festa hace unas semanas (y que aun no he estrenado), no hay muchos cuellos bebés en mi closet. Pero cuando estuve en casa de Jara el fin de semana pasado, ella sabia que me iba a encantar tanto este vestido, que me lo ha dejado prestado para ir a trabajar. (Cumple perfectamente con los requisitos de vestuario en mi nuevo colé, y muchas personas en mi trabajo me comentaron lo bonito y mono que les ha parecido este vestido).

If I'm not mistaken this knee length dress is a 2XL from Forever 21, but empire waistline seems to be slimming on me. It's totally made me want to order some Forever 21 clothes now. I have heard mixed reviews about Forever 21 in general, but I liked what I saw from Forever 21 in Jara's closet.

Sino me equivoco, este vestido que llega hasta la rodila, es una talla 2XL de Forever 21, pero el corte imperio parece hacerme aparentar mas delgada que lo que soy. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, THIS COAT!!

Estoy super, super, super, encantada con este abrigo!!

I'm not a fan of on-line shopping, so I was a bit hesitant about this coat.

Until it arrived.

It's so much nicer in real life than it is in the ASOS Curve photos!!

It's seriously warm...

And it's oh so soft to the touch!

In fact, nobody can take their hands off it! - Everybody just wants to stroke it, constantly.

No soy muy fan de las compras virtuales, así que tenia mis reservaciones en cuanto a este abrigo.

Hasta que llegó a estar en mis manos!

Es mucho más bonito en vida real que en las fotos de la página de Tallas Grandes de ASOS.

Y es tan calentito!

Y tan suave al tacto!

Tanto así, que no hay quien le quite las manos de encima! - Todo el mundo quiere acariciarle todo el rato!

I have blogged about this purchase before, but since both my cameras are currently out of service, I hadn't been able to show you how the coat looks on my body. Then I got a request on Facebook for it, and so my friend Jara (from the blog: El Blog de Jara) took some pictures of me it for that particular person. I hope this post helps her decide if she is going to purchase this coat or not!! :)

It's quite bulky, but very warm, soft, and versatile. The fur isn't real animal fur, but the quality of it is excellent! It's quite a glam, so it's not something everyone would wear everyday. However, since the purpose of a coat is to keep us warm in cold climates, I'd say this coat is perfect; and it's being pretty is an added bonus!

Have you adopted the fur trend yet?

Os he hablado de este abrigo en ocasiones previas, pero como mis dos cámaras actualmente están fuera de servicio, no había podido mostrarles como queda en mi cuerpo. Luego una chica me solicitó a través de facebook que si podía subir fotos con el abrigo puesto. Asi que mi amiga Jara (del blog: El Blog de Jara) me sacó estas fotos para esa chica. Espero que le ayude decidirse!! :)

Es un abrigo bultoso, pero muy calentito, suave, y versátil. El pelo no es pelo-real, pero la calidad es excelente. Es un abrigo que te hace aparentar muy arreglada, con lo cual no es algo que todo el mundo se pondría todos los días. As soon as I saw this on the ASOS Curve website just now, I feel in love and thought it'd be a fabulous addition to my ever growing closet!

Only to discover it's out of stock in both a size 20 and a 22.

I'm wondering when this was put up on the website, and how did I miss it?

Here's to hoping these won't go out of stock before I get a chance to place my order!!

On a different note, I can't remember if I updated you guys or not, but my faux fur coat from ASOS arrived on monday. I ordered a size 50, which is a UK 22, and it's a perfect fit! My only complaint is that it looks rather dressy, no matter what you pair it with. It's a lot puffier than I expected it to be, but overall, I think it is so much nicer in real life that in the photos on the website. The photos on the website really don't do it any justice.

Everyone yesterday and today has commented on how much they like it, and anyone who has touched it can't take the hands off it. Seriously! Like people will tap me on the arm and suddenly their arm stays put, and next thing I know, they are stroking my arm, wide eyed, commenting on how soft it is. I think it's hilarious!

But most importantly, it's really warm!

I now feel really ready to face the ever getting colder winter ahead of us!!

So what's on your wish list at the moment?

Do you guys know what you'll be doing for christmas already?

I'm going home to London for a few days and I can't wait!

I'm really excited to see all my old friends and just be home for a bit. I love Madrid, but London will always be my true, number one home.

Yes, I know, white boots are meant to be a major fashion faux pas. - Something totally inelegant and even considered to be slutty! Well, I'm no hood rat or slut, and if someone wants to mis-judge me because of the colour of my boots, that's their problem, not mine.

ASOS CURVE EXCLUSIVE FAUX FUR COAT / JACKET

I'm currently swamped under with work and still have no working camera, so the OOTD posts simply haven't been happening for some time now.

It's really annoying when I really want to share an outfit with you guys, but, things are what they are, so...

But I am still around and will post as much as I can, hopefully getting back to OOTD posts once the camera situation gets sorted.

As for my ASOS order

which I told you about in my previous post...

Well...

Everything turned out to be huge on me, - except the size 48 Olive coloured wide leg trousers, - but those gave me seriously bad camel toe!! I want a refund on those, and the midi skirt two sizes smaller. The skirt literally floated around me, it was that big. It was a bit disheartening for me, but I was thankful to have found a place that sells genuinely plus-sized clothes, that are both stylish and great quality!

I did however keep the mac as it's always good to know I can really layer it up when it gets majorly cold. The sleeves and shoulders are a perfect fit which is fantastic, even if everywhere else it's huge on me, lol.

I have since ordered this ASOS Curve exclusive faux fur coat:

I love the simplicity of it and can think of many ways to style it, including a few DIY details.

I paid 99.14 euros for it, thinking I was getting a bargain as it was originally 127.78 euros.

It is now down to 80 something, so if you like it too...

I made sure I ordered one size down on this one. Hopefully it will be a good fit.

I'm also hoping that the fur will be soft and smooth to the touch.

I'm funny (and picky) when it comes to fur. It's something I used to really dislike, and so I own very very little of the stuff. I'm liking it more these days though, and consequently more of it is entering my closet now too. - All faux fur, of course!!

I'm anti-real fur because of the suffering the animals experience; although aesthetically speaking, let's be honest. Love or hate fur, you can't really beat the luxurious softness of real fur. Still, for me, the suffering the animal has to endure in order for us to be able to wear real fur simply isn't worth it.

My First Time (Asos Post)

I have never bought anything from ASOS before.

I have browsed throughout their website many a time, and even drooled over things, but I have never taken the bull by the horns and actually purchased anything from them.

It's partly based on my preference of walking into a shop and being able to see, feel and try on the items that catch my eye in reality, instead of browsing through photos which might be misleading and then being disappointed by them upon their arrival! It's also partly based on the rumours I've heard about ASOS sizing being off. Things being too big or too small. However, I have heard so much about how great the quality of their clothes are, (and frankly, I'm getting really bored with the options I have available in the shops I have access to here in Madrid), that I decided to give ASOS a chance and see how it goes. The fact there is ASOS ESPAÑA has been born and offers free delivery made my decision even easier! lol. So, I made a few purchases yesturday. What do you think of the items I chose?

If you follow me on twitter, or are on my Facebook, you will know that I just started a new job, and there is a rather strict dress code, which includes no skirt or dress above the knee; and since most of my skirts are too short to adhere to that dress code rule, I've been 'living in' the same few pairs of trousers I own in rotation. But I miss wearing a skirt most of the time, so I decided to get this one. Jessica Dea from the blog Too Many Sequins - A Fatshion Blog, wrote a great review about this skirt. Confirming how soft it is, and how well it fits on the waist despite not being elasticated. So fingers crossed, I will be just as happy with this skirt as she is!

Everything I ordered I ordered in a size 22. If the clothes are a bit big, I can live with that and work around it. If they are too small, they are going back. Hopefully, they will be fine though!

Although I love this dress, and it's very me, it's not going to be worth purchasing. It's not very versatile to me, and it's not something I'd be able to get much wear out of. I also can't put my finger on what it is that I don't quite like about this dress at the same time as loving it, but I think it might be the length and were the "skirt" bit starts from. I think it'd be great on a girl with a tiny, accentuated waist! However, I'm not that girl, so I decided to say no to this dress, although it broke my heart...

See, it's moments like this when not being able to just walk into a shop, pick something up off of the rail, and then just try it on, becomes somewhat frustrating!

To be honest, I love the travel bag more, but I'd be happy to have either as long as it doesn't break the bank balance! lol

Threading Hair Away

I had heard about threading before, and had always been curious to try it until yesterday, when I gave threading a go at Con Hilo Depilo and I loved it.

I'm very happy with the shape and the precision. It didn't really hurt, and it was all over in a flash.

I think I am going to stick to threading now!

Normally I would either pluck at home, or go to a salon to get them waxed; but I was never as happy with the results as I am this time around though.

BTW, I still don't have a decent working camera. I took these with PhotoBooth. That's also a part of why I haven't been updating much lately. Hopefully I will have this sorted out soon!

I got a lot of positive feedback on my video in my last post, so I might make more. Who knows!

I agree with EVERYTHING she has to say,
and I would wear EVERYTHING she wears!

I am definitely the kind of girl who wears what she wants, when she wants, to wherever she wants, and I love it when it involves lots of bright colour(s) and sparkle. It's also true that sometimes I have been misjudged for over dressing, and other times I will make a conscious decision to dress down for something, but generally, I will wear whatever I want, whenever I want, to wherever I want. If I have spent money on something that I like and wearing it makes me feel good, then I am going to wear it whenever I want, and it's nobody else's business. Maybe I sound crude, but it's true that nobody else has the right to put limitations on me, and if I am not true to myself, then I might as well give up on life and happiness in general right now.

I cannot even begin to express, because there are no words big enough, for me to express how much I love Adele. She is such an inspiration to me, as a musician and as a singer, as well as a person.

She is dignified, talented, down to earth, and true to herself. I love how in her interview with Rolling Stones Magazine she said that her music is for ears, not eyes. How many musicians live up to that principle these days, mean it and achieve incredible success?

Jump Fruit and Friends

Once upon a time I admired jumpsuits/rompers from afar because I felt they wouldn't suit my apple figure.

Now I can't get enough of them!

This fruity little romper is an XL from Mango...

I love that it has pockets, and that the material is oh so soft and smooth!

The first outfit photo is how I wore this to meet my friend Carol and her boyfriend and his friends when she came to Madrid a few months back...

where the body-shot is of how I wore it to work one day. Just simple and "appropriate", don't you think?

It's both weird and wonderful when something we think isn't going to work, actually works!

I am now back in Madrid, and will be going to Vogue's Fashion night event in Serrano tonight, with my friend Vicky, which I'm looking forward to! Hopefully, I can get some decent shots of that to share with you guys :)

Let's Talk Brollies!

I took this photo months ago, but never got round to posting it. Now, in honour of this cold and severe rainy season in London, (despite the fact that it's apparently summer), I thought it was an appropriate time I talk a bit about brollies as planned.

I like Brollies. I see them as an extension of my outfit. Call me mad, but I generally colour co-ordinate my umbrella according to my outfit, but my favourite brolly is see through. It matches with everything in my eyes.

Am I the only person out there crazy enough to give that any relevance? :-)

Short White Denim Shorts

As far as I am concerned, anyone can wear white as long it's clean. Personally, I never wear white twice without putting it through a wash first, but I do wear white. So I see no reason why I should not wear these shorts since I can. I don't think it makes my bum look too big. I like a big bum, but maybe that's a latina thing.

I liked the T-Shirt too, but I didn't get it as I didn't think I'd get much wear out of it, and I'm trying to avoid this thing I seem to do, where I buy something and I don't wear it more than a few times, if that.

I must be crazy, but I got my hair cut again. I now have a really short bob, but I am happier with this style than I was with the layered style I had before. I have also had any "bad ends" chopped off making my hair look thick and super healthy. My only hang up is that I look a lot younger with my hair like this, but I'm not complaining.

In with the Old

I'm still in London, but like I said in my penultimate post, I haven't brought very many clothes with me at all! So I've been raiding through my old clothes stored in boxes at my mum's house. I am ashamed to admit this, but there are some things here that have never, ever, been worn and still have the labels on; and this dress-top was one of those things. I remember buying it in Primark on Oxford Street a few years ago. It was too small for me then, but I told myself I would loose weight to fit into it - A habit I am proud to say I have let go of. Weird thing is, I never did loose weight to fit into it, and it fits. How bizarre!

I took these photos at home really early in the morning on a make shift tripod before rushing out, so please excuse the bad angle! It doesn't help that the only working camera I have the moment is a really crappy one! But every now and again it takes a half decent picture that I feel relatively comfortable putting up here.
